Check the damaged rolling bearing after disassembly. According to the condition of the damaged bearing, it can be judged that there is a fault and the cause of the damage.

1. Bearing burns

Bearing that burns bearings have tempered colors on raceways and rolling elements. Burns of bearings are generally caused by insufficient lubrication, poor quality or deterioration of lubricating oil, and over-tight bearing assembly.

2. Cracks in the bearing ring

The reason for the cracks in the bearing ring may be that the bearing is too tightly fitted, the outer ring or the inner ring is loose, the cage of the bearing is deformed, and the mounting surface of the bearing is poorly processed.

3. Fracture of bearing cage

The reason for the cage fracture is insufficient lubrication, rolling elements crushed, skewed ferrule, etc.

4. The metal of the bearing cage sticks on the rolling elements

This may be caused by the rolling elements being stuck in the bearing cage or insufficient lubrication.

5. Severe wear of ring raceway

The possible reason is that foreign matter falling into the ring, insufficient lubricating oil, or improper lubricating oil type or brand.

6. The metal edge of the cage adheres to the rolling elements

The possible reason is that the rolling elements are stuck in the cage or insufficient lubrication.

7. The raceway of a ring is severely worn

It may be that foreign matter has fallen into the ferrule, insufficient lubricating oil, or improper lubricating oil type or brand..

8. Plastic deformation

The plastic deformation of the bearing refers to the uneven pits on the contact surface of the bearing raceway and the roller. This may be caused by the local stress on the working surface of the bearing exceeding the yield limit of the material under a large static load or impact load. This situation mostly occurs on low-speed rotating bearings.

9. Metal peeling off the surface of the raceway

Due to the cyclic pulsating load, the bearing rolling elements and the inner and outer ring raceway surfaces produce periodic contact stress. When the number of stress cycles reaches a certain value, fatigue spalling occurs on the working surfaces of the rolling elements or inner and outer ring raceways. In addition, uneven bearing installation and bending of the spindle will also cause peeling on the raceway surface.
