On June 5, 2024, the TRB main shaft bearing independently developed by ZYS assisted the successful installation of an 18MW semi-direct-drive offshore wind turbine at the wind power coastal test base in Shantou City, Guangdong Province, setting a new record for the largest single-unit wind turbine main shaft bearing capacity unit that has been hoisted in the world. This is another new milestone in the development of wind power bearings in China.


As a leading technology-based enterprise in the national bearing industry, ZYS has more than 60 years of technological accumulation and has always been committed to solving the "bottleneck" technology in the bearing industry and focusing on building high-end wind power bearing research, production and service capabilities. The successful hoisting of the 18MW wind turbine main shaft bearing is another vivid practice to ensure the supply of key components of my country's wind power equipment and national energy security, and promote green and low-carbon transformation, injecting new impetus into the development of China's wind power bearing industry.

As the core component of wind turbine, the main shaft bearing plays an important role in absorbing the aerodynamic load of the impeller and transmitting power, and is called the "heart" of the wind turbine. During the development of the bearing, ZYS adopted independent and innovative technologies such as forward design, precision manufacturing, surface enhancement and online intelligent monitoring, which effectively enhanced the reliability and stability of the bearing. According to estimates, an 18MW wind turbine can generate 38 kilowatt-hours of electricity per revolution, and the average annual power generation of a single unit is as high as 72 million kilowatt-hours, which is enough to meet the annual electricity needs of about 36,000 households. At the same time, it can save more than 22,000 tons of standard coal and reduce carbon dioxide emissions by more than 59,000 tons each year.

At present, ZYS can achieve an annual production capacity of 3,000 sets of wind turbine main shaft bearings and 2,500 sets of wind turbine gearbox bearings. In the future, ZYS will always adhere to the company's development strategy, continue to increase investment in the research and development and industrialization of wind turbine main shaft bearings and gearbox bearings, promote deep transformation and upgrading of the industry, strive to develop new quality productivity, and help achieve the "3060" dual carbon goals.
