On September 26, 2024, the international standard ISO 7544 "Rolling bearings-Test and assessment methods for cleanliness“ led by ZYS, was officially released. This international standard is the first method standard in the field of rolling bearings led by China, marking the first time that China's independently innovative method standards in the field of rolling bearings have gone international and mastered the right to speak on test method standards. This standard is also the third international standard in the field of rolling bearings led by China.

ISO 7544 was led by ZYS, and was jointly developed by Hangzhou Bearing Test and Research Center Co., Ltd., Schaeffler (China) Co., Ltd., Cixing Group Co., Ltd., SKF (Shanghai) Automotive Technology Co., Ltd. and other units. This international standard was proposed based on my country's national standard GB/T 33624-2017 "Rolling bearings - Cleanliness measurement and assessment methods". The project was launched in June 2021. After 18 international working group meetings and 9 domestic working group meetings, more than 80 working group documents were formed. With the joint efforts of experts from China, Germany, Japan, Austria, France, the United Kingdom, Sweden, Russia, India and other countries, it took 3 years to finally be officially released.

Cleanliness directly affects bearing vibration, noise and life reliability, so more and more important application areas such as automobiles and home appliances have put forward clear requirements for bearing cleanliness. ISO 7544 specifies the bearing cleanliness measurement procedures and technical requirements for equipment, blank tests, sampling, extraction, filtration, analysis, etc., which helps to unify and standardize the bearing cleanliness measurement methods used by various countries and companies, improve the comparability of measurement results, improve cleanliness control measures for bearing manufacturers, and provide technical support for customers to select high-cleanliness bearings.

As China technical counterpart of the International Organization for Standardization's Rolling Bearing Technical Committee (ISO/TC4), ZYS will keep in mind its original intention and mission, further consolidate industry strength, strengthen key core technology research, promote the transformation of more scientific and technological achievements into international standards, contribute more Chinese wisdom and Chinese solutions to the international standardization of rolling bearings, and promote the high-quality development of the bearing industry!
