The first meeting of the ninth National Technical Committee for Standardization of Rolling Bearings and the election of its new term were held in Zhengzhou, Henan Province, from January 12 to 16, 2026. Tan Xiangning, Deputy Chief Engineer of China Machinery Industry Federation, Zhou Yu, Chairman of China Bearing Industry Association, Wei Jianhe, Director of Standardization Department of Henan Provincial Market Supervision Administration, and Jiang Wei, Chairman of National Rolling Bearing Standardization Technical Committee and Chairman of Sinomach Precision Industry Group Co., Ltd., attended the meeting.

The meeting was hosted by Luoyang Bearing Research Institute Co., Ltd., and 66 committee members (including 9 committee representatives) attended the meeting, accounting for 98.5% of the total 67 committee members who should have attended. A total of 96 representatives, including the standard drafters, the secretariat, and other attendees, participated in the meeting. The opening ceremony of the conference was chaired by Li Wenchao, Secretary-General of the National Technical Committee for Standardization of Rolling Bearings and Deputy General Manager of Luoyang Bearing Research Institute Co., Ltd.

The meeting began with a speech by Deputy Chief Engineer Tan Xiangning. Tan affirmed the work of previous members of National Technical Committee for Standardization of Rolling Bearings and emphasized the responsibilities of the new committee members, focusing on the three key words: "responsibility, compliance, and learning." Tan Xiangning also interpreted the "fast, excellent, and strong" requirements of standardization policies and standardization work, and pointed out five major directions for the future advancement of standardization work: "high-end, intelligent, green, integrated, and international."

Chairman Zhou Yu congratulated the convening of the meeting, emphasized the strategic significance of standardization for the development of the bearing industry, affirmed the remarkable achievements of rolling bearing standardization work during the "14th Five-Year Plan" period in terms of standard system optimization and standard internationalization, analyzed the challenges currently facing the bearing industry such as the opportunities for new technology integration and the lack of high-end supply, and expressed his expectations for leading the high-quality development of the industry through standardization and contributing to the construction of a manufacturing powerhouse.

Director Wei Jianhe welcomed the participating representatives and fully affirmed the work achievements of National Technical Committee for Standardization of Rolling Bearings. He also clearly stated that he would further support the work of National Technical Committee for Standardization of Rolling Bearings in the future.

Jiang Wei, Chairman of the National Technical Committee for Standardization of Rolling Bearings, delivered a work report entitled "Strengthening Standards Guidance to Promote High-Quality Development of the Bearing Industry" for the 8th National Technical Committee for Standardization of Rolling Bearings. The report systematically reviewed the achievements and experiences of the 8th National Technical Committee for Standardization of Rolling Bearings, analyzed the current shortcomings, and put forward clear requirements for the work of the new National Technical Committee for Standardization of Rolling Bearings, especially in terms of mechanism innovation, standard leadership, international breakthroughs, basic research, and implementation.

The meeting announced the approval document for the re-election of the Ninth National Technical Committee for Standardization of Rolling Bearings and issued certificates to the new members, advisors and honorary members. The meeting also reviewed and approved the new Charter and Secretariat Working Rules of National Technical Committee for Standardization of Rolling Bearings, as well as the Committee Member Performance Evaluation System, the Selection Method for Advanced Units in Standardization Work, and the Selection Method for Advanced Individuals.

The standard review was chaired by Ge Shidong, Yu Changxin, Xie Xinghui, and Yan Ke, vice chairmen of National Technical Committee for Standardization of Rolling Bearings; Zhang Song and Li Hongbin, deputy secretaries-general; Zhou Caihong and Huang Cai, committee members; and Zhao Binhai, advisor. This meeting reviewed and approved 5 draft national standards and 14 draft industry standards, all of which passed the final review. The meeting also solicited opinions on the "2026 Standard Formulation and Revision Plan for Rolling Bearings". The secretariat and five companies introduced the status of eight standard formulation projects and four standard revision projects to the participants.

This meeting was a complete success thanks to the joint efforts of all participating committee members, secretariat staff, and relevant meeting delegates!
