From August 13 to 14, 2026, the Bearing Steel Subcommittee of the National Steel Standardization Technical Committee organized a series of national bearing steel standard meetings in Beijing. Experts and representatives from Luoyang Bearing Research Institute Co., Ltd. (ZYS), together with over 60 delegates from across the steel and bearing industries, attended the conference.

The series of meetings successfully covered three major agendas:

Kick-off for Three National Standards: The drafting groups reported on the drafting schemes for three national standards: Flexible Bearing Steel for Robots, Powder Bearing Steel, and Hot-rolled Steel Sheets and Strips of High-carbon Chromium Bearing Steel. The participating experts conducted discussions on the drafting schemes of the three standards and determined the direction for the next step of the standardization work.

Promotion and Implementation of Two National Standards: Experts conducted promotion and implementation for two national standards, GB/T 29913—2025 (Medium-carbon Alloy Bearing Steel) and GB/T 32959—2025 (Forged Bars, Rings, and Blanks of Bearing Steel), delivering comprehensive and in-depth interpretations of the major technical revisions in both standards.

Discussion on High-Carbon Chromium Bearing Steel Standard: The attending experts carried out in-depth discussions on the national standard High-carbon Chromium Bearing Steel, focusing on carbide-related technical indicators in the standard, which smoothly advanced the standard revision work.

As a leading technical force in China's bearing sector, Luoyang Bearing Research Institute Co., Ltd. (ZYS) actively participates in national standardization activities, continuously contributing technical expertise to promote quality upgrades and standard innovation in bearing steel materials.
