Recently, the international standard proposal ISO/NP 25994, "Spherical plain bearings — Self-lubricating bearings of PTFE fabric liner type", led by China, was officially registered and approved by the ISO/TC 4/SC 7 "Spherical plain bearings" subcommittee.

ISO/NP 25994 is the sixth international standard proposal led and approved by China in the field of rolling bearings. It is also the third proposal approved by the ISO/TC4/SC7 "Spherical Plain Bearings" subcommittee. All new work projects of ISO/TC4/SC7 in the past decade have come from China. China is the only member country that has continuously proposed new standards, actively contributing Chinese strength and wisdom to maintaining the activity of SC7.

ISO/NP 25994 is based on my country's JB/T standard, "Spherical plain bearings - Self-lubricating radial spherical plain bearings". This international standard proposal was initially discussed at the ISO/TC 4/SC 7 annual meeting in May 2025. After drafting, preparing necessary documents, and communicating with relevant countries and the SC7 Secretariat (Germany), a three-month voting period for the new work item proposal was officially launched on August 19, 2025. It received support from countries including the United States, Austria, and Russia, and was officially approved on November 18.

PTFE fabric-lined self-lubricating spherical plain bearings are characterized by maintenance-free operation, self-lubrication, low friction, high load capacity, high wear resistance, and long service life, and are widely used in high-end equipment, precision instruments, and humanoid robots. ISO/NP 25994 specifies key technical indicators for PTFE fabric-lined self-lubricating bearings, including product structure, dimensions, technical requirements, and test methods. As a major producer of PTFE fabric-lined self-lubricating spherical plain bearings, the successful establishment of this international standard in my country marks a breakthrough from "technology follower" to "standard leader" in the high-end technology field of self-lubricating spherical plain bearings. It signifies my country's increasing influence and voice in this product area, contributing to enhanced industrial competitiveness of such products in international trade.
