Bearing cage materials are mainly stamped steel, machined steel, stamped brass, machined brass, polymeric materials, etc.
Stamped steel cage
Material: Cold stamped from 08 and 10 high quality carbon steel sheets.
Advantages: light weight, good toughness, easy processing, small space between the inner and outer rings of the bearing, easy for lubricating oil to enter the bearing and stay in the cage.
Application: Medium and small bearings generally use stamped steel cages.
Solid steel cage
Material: Refined from carbon steel forgings.
Advantages: heavy, high strength, good rigidity, low price.
Application: Medium and large bearings generally use solid cages.
Solid brass cage
Material: Crafted from high-strength brass castings.
Advantages: high strength, good anti-vibration, small friction coefficient, good thermal conductivity.
Application: medium, large and extra large bearings; working environment requiring high speed, large vibration and strong impact.
Non-metallic cage
Materials: mainly polymers and composite materials, including nylon, phenolic tape, PTFE, etc.
Advantages: light weight, low friction, good strength and elasticity, good shock resistance and lubricating properties.
Application: medium, small and miniature bearings; occasions requiring high speed.
