At the beginning of April, in a department meeting, Director He Linghui stated, “A similar product normally takes four months to process. This time, the new model gives us less than a third of that time.” The statement set the tone for a high-stakes emergency processing task for a batch of complex components.

The parts involved were numerous, intricate in structure, and required exceptionally high precision. The shortened delivery timeline posed significant challenges to production organization, process assurance, and cross-team coordination.


Immediate Response and Task Organization

Following the task assignment, the Spindle Department mobilized immediately. A special task force led by core party members was formed to tackle the challenge head-on. Responsibilities were clarified, production milestones detailed, and resources—including personnel, equipment, and workflow—were coordinated to ensure uninterrupted progress. Starting April 9, the workshop entered a continuous intensive production phase. Employees voluntarily extended work hours and adjusted rest schedules to ensure seamless operations in component machining, process coordination, and in-process inspections.

Collaborative Problem-Solving and Process Optimization

The challenge was formidable. Beyond the compressed schedule, high precision standards needed to be met. Leveraging the department's “Three Primary Colors” team-building initiatives, grinding, turning, and fitting teams jointly researched solutions and optimized workflows. Continuous communication and shared expertise allowed for cross-process collaboration, turning technical difficulties into reliable deliverables.

Leadership Support and Resource Coordination

Department leaders provided on-site coordination throughout the project, resolving critical issues such as material handovers, downstream process cooperation, and acid pickling inspections. By proactively liaising with other departments and managing concurrent production tasks, equipment and personnel resources were maximized to enhance capacity utilization while keeping the core task on track.

Technical Precision and Quality Assurance

Process engineers were stationed on the production floor to provide real-time technical guidance. Each key process was validated, parameters adjusted, and workflow optimized to ensure efficiency and stability. Operators in turning, fitting, and grinding roles leveraged years of experience to control every detail meticulously, completing key measurements such as coordinate measuring machine inspections and cylindrical accuracy checks. Every data point was verified, every process controlled, and every component ensured.

Remarkable Outcome

Unified by a common goal, the workshop worked seamlessly as one. On May 22, the final component was completed and delivered for inspection. After one-time verification, all 44 sets totaling 352 parts passed quality inspection, achieving timely and successful delivery of this emergency task.

From urgent assignment to final delivery in just 45 days, the Spindle Department demonstrated exceptional organizational efficiency, process rigor, and stable quality assurance. This success reflects the team's combat readiness, cohesion, and execution capability, showcasing their commitment, craftsmanship, and resilience under extreme pressure.
